Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. Harris is the first vice president to be female and the highest-ranking female official in U.S. History, as being the first African American and second Asian American vice president. She is a member of Congress and a former US senator representing California. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was then appointed to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she was appointed district attorney for San Francisco. In 2010 Harris was appointed Attorney General of California and was re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sánchez in the 2016 Senate elections to become the second African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to serve as a senator in the United States Senate. She was a senator , and advocated for healthcare reform, federal cannabis de-scheduling, an opportunity to become a citizen for immigrants without a legal status, the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons, and progressive tax reform. Her name is well-known due to her direct questioning of Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
